The Cash Cube was made famous on the hit TV programme Noels House Party. Everyone remembers the trips to Crinkly Bottom of the Saturday night, where at the end on the show a contestant was lucky enough to try to win some wonga in the Cash Cube.
Cash Cube Hire is a solid Perspex cube that player step into and enter. They are fully enclosed and are visible from 360 degrees. The aim of the game is to collect as much money or vouchers as they can. Sound easy but we forgot to add that the Cash Cube is linked to a blower unit. Once the start button is pressed all the vouchers fly around and swirl around the inside of the Cash Cube. Great entertainment for all the spectators, but suddenly the players task has got somewhat more difficult.
The players aim to grab the money or the vouchers and place them in the collection chamber in front of them. The more they collect, the more money they will win or the more likely they will be to get a prize. Great fun as they frantically try to grab vouchers and as they swirl around it looks like they are grabbing at fresh air.
The blower is linked to a LED digital display placed on top of the Cash Cube. We can set the timer from up to 99 seconds. We find 30 seconds is enough for players to have the full Cash Cube experience. As the timer counts down in seconds, once it reaches zero, the blower stops. Any remaining vouchers float softly to the floor of the Cash Cube. It is now time to empty the collection chamber and tally up how many vouchers or notes they have collected.
Cash Cube Hire is perfect for applying different mechanics to the competitions. The simplest game is to see how many vouchers have been collected and the player with the highest quantity is the winner. Other clients will put in vouchers of 2 different colours, one will be positive and the other negative – you simply take away the negative count from the positive count to collate the score. Other client will drip feed prize winning vouchers into the Cash Cube. Players lucky enough to collect these special vouchers will instantly win a prize.
Of course, you can always use real cash. We often supply to events where players are selected to have a go in the cube. The first player has the best chance to win the most as there is more notes in there. After their attempt and they have taken the winnings, the next player goes in and attempts to grab as much as they can of the reduced pot. And so on and so on, until the last note has been collected. This is great for a centrepiece on a stage at the end of an event.
