So how does the Pedal Charging Station Hire work? We will supply the complete package for your event. You can choose between one or two bikes. Having 2 Pedal charging station bikes will halve the effort required to keep the input power at a level to charge all of the devices. Each bike can produce approximately 200 watts of input power.
Our bespoke designed control box is where the magic happens. This control unit is hooked up to the bikes. The Pedal Charging Station control box has 6 USB outlets. To these we attach the phone charger adapters – allowing us to charge the majority of all modern phones. Each charging cable is fitted with 4 splitters allowing us to potentially charge a large number of phones.
Pedal Charging Station Hire is also supplied with a visual LED display. This display box is perfect for your guests and the peddlers to see what energy is being pulled from the devices and more importantly what power is being produced by the peddlers. Should the demand of power exceed the input, the peddlers are given a gentle reminder as the word ‘PEDAL’ appears on the screen. In summer days we have powered such items as cooling fans, radios, laptops and even ran a fully self-sufficient event with the bikes powering a Batak reaction game.
This unique control unit using the 13-amp power outlets is widely used in sustainable energy presentations. As long as the power required does not exceed 250 watts, we have comfortably powered laptop presentations linked to TV screens when using 2 bikes. Why do we try to keep it at 250 watts, when the bikes can produce 200 watts each? Well, we have found that setting a top limit of 250 watts is a level where most players can comfortably maintain the power required to keep the displays and laptops with power. To maintain 200 watts per bike over a longer period of time will really take some pedal power from your guests.
